Electrical Industrial Estimator

Responsibilities: Industrial Estimator must have at least 5 years of experience in the industrial and/or commercial electrical field, with some estimating and drawing takeoff experience. Must be able to formulate bids. Place bids for industrial and commercial jobs suited for our company based on knowledge of our capabilities, work already underway and meeting our revenue goals.

• Ensure bids completed prior to the bid deadline. •Ensure Proposal Letters are sent to customers. •Visit the job site prior to performing a bid, when necessary. •Review drawings and bid specs as required to do complete estimate. •Enter pertinent data into estimating software. •Compose proposal letter

Sales Support •Service and cultivate new, existing, and past customers. •Meet with qualified customers or their representatives to determine their exact needs and wants. •Interact with the customers to resolve problems, provide answers and clarifications on their questions to the end of consummating a sale. •Document all telephone conversations with the client especially those where decisions were made. •Create memos in regards to decisions made and send it to the customer as a follow up. •Maintain adequate and accessible records of all related communications and correspondence regarding each customer, regardless of sale or no sale. Communications •Attend, participate or conduct all required meetings such as: •Communicate with the Project Manager all needed job information •Ensure that the company is represented at all required job meetings and documentation is provided Purchasing Responsibility •Obtain quotations from multiple vendors, ensuring adequate timing for bidding purposes. •Maintain cordial but professional relationships with the Vendors. •Exercises a “sense of urgency” to perform the necessary, timely and accurate purchasing activities. •Ensure that material and equipment is requested and purchased on a timely basis to avoid unnecessary job delays and interruptions Physical Requirements:

• Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time •Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction •Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard •Ability to see within normal parameters •Ability to hear within normal range •Ability to move about at the job site •A valid driver’s license to drive Company vehicles and the ability to be insured is required for this position. •Ability to drive a vehicle to and from job sites is required.
